Stay Protected!

Now I urge you, brothers, to watch out for those who cause dissensions and obstacles contrary to the doctrine you have learned. Avoid them, for such people do not serve our Lord Jesus Christ but their own appetites. They deceive the hearts of the unsuspecting with smooth talk and flattering words. Romans 16:17,18

There are people who are trouble makers and tools of the enemy. If we find ourselves hurt, wounded, sick and vulnerable, they swoop in.

Therefore, it is important that we have a safe-guard around us, made up of good, Godly friends who will speak truth into our lives. Being a Lone Ranger is not clever.

Staying in church and well connected is another protection. Having a leader we can trust and discuss openly any matter with is a must.

Finally, don't be drawn off to strange gatherings, keep everything in the loop.

A fox picks off the isolated chicken and young lamb. Don't isolate! Stay connected!

Little Things Grow

The boy's mother said to Elisha, "as The Lord lives and you yourself live, I will not leave you. So he got up and followed her. 2 Kings 4:30 The Shunamite woman had travelled to Mt Carmel to find Elisha after the death of her son. Although Elisha had sent his servant Gehazi to the boy with his staff the woman had come to find Elisha and was not leaving without him. I like this lady's spirit. I am sure The Lord God Almighty also valued her heart. She had a heart for God and made room for Him in her world. Now, having lost her son she knew what to do: find Elisha and not let him go until he came to restore her son. What made the Shunamite woman believe that Elisha could raise her son? Was it the same faith that made her provide him a place to stay in her home? I believe it was God working in her life. I am grateful for her faith, I can read and be encouraged.
