Life Through Grace

We always thank God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, when we pray for you, for we have heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and of the love you have for all the saints because of the hope reserved for you in heaven.

You have already heard about this hope in the message of truth, the gospel that has come to you.
It is bearing fruit and growing all over the world, just as it has among you since the day you heard it and  recognised God's grace in the truth. Colossians 1:2-6

Paul had not yet visited Colossae but relied on the reports given him by Epaphras who had established this church. Paul had heard about their response to the gospel. Would it not be gratifying to have such a great leader write to them personally. It also did Paul's heart good to hear of their faith?

Paul mentions the love these saints had for all other fellow believers, thus evidencing the depth of their conversion. When you experience the ' born again' transition your whole outlook changes. Your desire to be a blessing to others grows. The motivation is the hope reserved for us in heaven.

The hope of heaven is bound up in the message of grace we call the gospel.

When the gospel is received it produces fruit. And like any fruit it bears seeds that produce more trees which in turn produce more fruit and this process cultivates as it spreads.

Only grace brings life! The word without grace brings death. Which do you feed on?
