Loyalty Nit Sacrifice

For I desire loyalty not sacrifice, the knowledge of God rather than burnt offerings. Hosea 6:6

Way back in my Carholic days I was led to believe that keeping church law was where it was at. My behaviour was not under the spotlight, as confession was there, readily available. Genuine repentance was not considered nor taught, that I remember.

Now I discussed this with my mother recently and she was surprised at my interpretation of what I was taught. She, like I, was educated in a catholic school but believed behaviour was important. I know I tried to behave but failed in areas important to me.

When I discovered that relationship was based on what Christ did for me, instead of what I could do for Him then things changed.

The amazing grace He gives wipes away all struggle, all self effort, all shame.

How blessed am I? Truly blessed! Amen!

Don't  get caught in sacrifice thinking that is all that is required. Don't be weighed down with guilt but instead be lifted up by relationship. Amen!
