Wisdom in Teaching
We proclaim Him, warning and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone mature in Christ. I labour for this, striving with His strength that works powerfully in me. Colossians 1:28,29
We who read all that the apostle wrote could agree that all he wrote employed wisdom, passion and focus.
I pray that all I write and speak employs wisdom for I know that I am also quite capable, in my natural self, of being foolish at times.
However, like Paul I am passionate about the truth of the gospel and desire that all who come to Christ will apply themselves with all diligence to mature in Christ.
Paul goes on to state that he laboured for this goal. He did not just want them to mature, his passion led him to labour in prayer and teaching for this end. Fortunately for us he utilised the power of the Holy Spirit working in him.
Having been involved in pastoring two churches I can say that the energy required at times is huge. Yet as the load increases so does our dependence on the power of the Holy Spirit. I remember reading a blog by Pastor Phil Pringle in which he stated that same fact, that is wisdom.
Wisdom is reliance on the Holy Spirit and recognising the need for more of Him and less of us. Otherwise the sheep are abused.
I am looking forward to meeting Paul and spending time with him, over a cuppa and discussing things. I love to hear from the learned in Christ, I love to have my eyes opened to the bigger picture and to the working of the gospel.
I am so grateful that people such as Reinhard Bonke takes the time to Facebook twice daily, the wisdom flows from such great men and women. I am blessed! You are blessed to have the means to read this on- line. Amen!
Employ wisdom and passion for Christ and the gospel He brought us and you will not err! Amen!
