Accountability
King Solomon surpassed all the kings of the world in riches and in wisdom. 1kings 10:23
King Solomon loved many foreign women in addition to Pharaoh's daughter.1 Kings10:1
Between these two verses there is a moral chasm. Solomon had given himself to lust, thinking he could hold 'fire in his bosom'! Where was Nathan the prophet or his successor? We don't hear e voice of God dissuading Solomon as He did Solomon's father David.
Solomon appears to have established himself as the ultimate authority without accountability. This caused his downfall. When a man, not matter how clever he is, makes himself accountable to his own interpretation of scripture he is in danger.
Being accountable to a team who has the authority to pull you up is important. You need to have given your ear to someone and trust them to be faithful in applying scripture to your life. I have been involved in this exact same situation and knowing that if submission was given to Godly authority we would have brought a different outcome.
A leader can say they are accountable but it needs to be a working principle and not verbal assent. Love yourself and your family to protect yourself and them from the enemy's assault in the areas of morality, finance and power.
Be wise in all matters!
