Called to Build

When Solomon finished building the temple of The Lord, the royal palace, and all that Solomon desired to do, The Lord appeared to Solomon a second time just as He had appeared to him at Gibeon. The Lord said to him: "I have heard your prayer and petition you have made before Me. I have consecrated this temple you have built, to put My name there forever; My eyes and My heart will be there at all times.

As for you, if you walk before Me as your father David walked, with a heart of integrity and in what is right, doing everything I have commanded you, and if you keep My ordinances and My statutes, I will establish your royal throne over Israel forever, as I promised your father David: you will never fail to have a man on the throne of Israel". 1Kings 9:1-5

The Lord's presence filled the temple, He was present.

Solomon had desired a good thing and led the people to worship as they were meant to.

God declared Himself faithful to the faithful. "If you walk in integrity, as your father David did...I will establish your royal throne...."

David had fought for Solomon's right of passage to a relationship with the living God, he had been faithful. Now it was Solomon's turn. If he stayed faithful then one of his sons would reign when he was gone.

Solomon built according to divine instruction and The Lord showed up because He was pleased.

Solomon now had to stay faithful. David was gone, Solomon was not totally responsible for whether he was lifted up or allowed to fall.

What are you called to do?
