Finding Your Place
In the spring, Benhadad mobilised the Arameans and went up to Aphek to battle Israel. The Israelites mobilised, gathered supplies, and went to fight them. The Israelites camped in front of them like the two little flocks of goats, while the Arameans filled the landscape.
Then the man of God approached and said to the king of Israel, "this is what Yahweh says:' because the Arameans have said: Yahweh is a god of the mountains and not a god of the alleys, I will hand over all this great army to you. Then you will know that I am The Lord.'" 1 Kings 20:26-28
Our God is not limited! He is God of all! We cannot put Him in a box and when our enemies scoff at our faith they find themselves in a box.
In quietness and confidence shall be your strength. Is 30:15 did you know the full rendition of this verse is: 'this is what the sovereign Lord, the Holy One of Israel says: ' in repentance and rest is your salvation, in quietness and trust is your strength, but you would have none of it.'
Turning away from our own wilfull mind sets, repenting and making peace with God, deciding to totally trust in The Lord we are strong.
Last night I had a picture come to mind of being 'in Christ'. I imagined a tool shed in the garden that was much like the Tardis of Doctor Who. It looks ordinary on the outside but inside, wow!, what isn't there is not worth mentioning. However, I saw shelves lined with various container, some ordinary, some spectacular, each labelled: healing, rest, peace, financial provision, grace, mercy, goodness, kindness, etc. I can go into my shed anytime and open a jar anytime as they are all mine, the shed is mine. All I need is in that Shed, it was my place, given to me by my Father. That is what it is like. All we need to do is refrain from doing in our own strength because that smells because it is sweaty flesh.
Find your place, your shed. Amen!
