He is There in the Small Things

When Elisha returned to Gilgal, there was a famine in the land. The sons of the prophets were sitting at his feet. He said to his attendant, "put on the large pot and make stew for the sons of the prophets."
One went to the field to gather herbs and found a wild vine from which he gathered as many wild gourds as his garment would hold. Then he came back and cut them up into the pot of stew, but they were unaware of what they were.
They served some for the men to eat, but when they ate the stew they cried out, "there's death in the pot, man of God!" And they were unable to eat it.
Then Elisha said, "get some meal." He threw it in the pot and said, "serve it for the people to eat." And there was nothing bad in the pot. 2 Kings 4:38-41

Elisha was a more personable prophet than Elijah. We see him interacting with ordinary folk more. Perhaps it had to do with his upbringing.

I am sorry but the girl in me laughs at the fact that the men foraged for herbs and came back with plants they did not recognise to cook and eat. Not smart! But then we are always doing things that we need  rescuing  from.

Elisha did not remonstrate with them, he used what God had given him to bring healing and wholeness.

This miracle shows how much our God wants to be involved in ordinary, everyday life. He is personable and ever present, ready to do what He alone can do.

Today I had a blessing out of left field. I was working away diligently when I received a phone call from my manager to say AMP want to give me some more clients. These same people were the ones that were a part of the agency  I had belonged to back in 2003.  Technically they are a restoration of a part of what was mine. Now I think about it I had a similar thing happen yesterday. How good is God?

He is restoring all that was mine. Last night I began playing piano in church again. It seems I am not too old. I enjoyed it tremendously.

And this is only just the beginning! I wonder what more The Lord will do for me, His beloved.
