His Word Never Fails

After the death of Ahab, Moab rebelled against Israel. Ahaziah. (Ahab's son) had fallen through the latticed window of his upper room in Samaria and was injured. So he sent messengers instructing them: "go inquire of Baal-zebub, the god of Ekron, if I will recover from this injury."
But the angel of The Lord said to Elijah the Tishbite, "go and meet the messengers of the king of Samaria and ask them, "is it because there is no God in Israel that you are going to inquire of Baal-zebub, the god of Ekron. Therefore, this is what The Lord says: "you will not get up from your sickbed- you will certainly die."Then Elijah left. 2 Kings 1:1-4

There is only one living God and He is mighty. All other so called gods are fabrications of men's minds. We believe if we can create a god we can control it. However, in former days superstition would have played a large part in deification. Yet the result is the same.

Anything we construct out if fear or pride will fail because they are not the creator. The God we serve created ALL things. Nothing that was made did not originate in Him. He alone deserves the glory.

As a Christian I have to constantly check what I am empowering in my life. Am I lifting up Christ or illness? Am I honouring wealth over Him? What are my first thoughts in the day? Do I put attitude before God? Am I hanging on to bad attitude and giving it room in my life?

Ahaziah was schooled by a petulant father and a wicked mother. He had their rebellious heart towards God. He tried to destroy Elijah and failed. Elijah spoke the word of The Lord and His word always comes to pass. amen!

Little Things Grow

The boy's mother said to Elisha, "as The Lord lives and you yourself live, I will not leave you. So he got up and followed her. 2 Kings 4:30 The Shunamite woman had travelled to Mt Carmel to find Elisha after the death of her son. Although Elisha had sent his servant Gehazi to the boy with his staff the woman had come to find Elisha and was not leaving without him. I like this lady's spirit. I am sure The Lord God Almighty also valued her heart. She had a heart for God and made room for Him in her world. Now, having lost her son she knew what to do: find Elisha and not let him go until he came to restore her son. What made the Shunamite woman believe that Elisha could raise her son? Was it the same faith that made her provide him a place to stay in her home? I believe it was God working in her life. I am grateful for her faith, I can read and be encouraged.
