Obeying the Command

Naaman, a commander of tha army for the king of Aram, was a great man in his master's sight and highly regarded because through him The Lord had given victory to Aram. The man was a brave warrior, but he had a skin disease.
Aram had gone on raids and brought back from the land of Israel a young girl who served Naaman's wife. She said to her mistress, " If only my master would go to the prophet who is in Samaria, he would cure him of his skin disease."
So Naaman's went and told his master what the girl from the land of Israel had said. Therefore the king of Aram said, "go and I will send a letter with you to the king of Israel." 2 Kings 5:1-5

Two people stand out here: the prophet Elisha and the young girl from Israel.

Elisha had a proven track record, by diligently doing as The Lord commanded him and not overstepping his brief; the young girl had been raised to know the Lord and respected Elisha, perhaps she had witnessed him in action or perhaps she had heard stories about him. Whatever the reason she had a good heart towards her captor and wished him well, not ill.

Naaman's was willing to go to the prophet and respectfully asked permission to go, which he was granted. However, both he and the king thought that the right route was through the king of Israel. The king of Israel was a godless man and  could no more believe God himself let alone heal anyone.

Fortunately Elisha heard about the visitor and said,"send him to me." When Naaman's arrived he did not go out to him, instead he sent out his servant. This annoyed Naaman and he had to be persuaded to comply with Elisha's instructions, which he eventually did and received a miracle for which he was truly grateful.

God showed up for Naaman so that he would become a believer. God was interested in Naaman. How good is He?

What can I learn from this? Keep diligently serving in what God has given me and respond to His prompting and obey, above all keep a good attitude.

Currently our lady PM has been voted out of position by her team. I am horrified by some of the comments that are coming from people about her, vilifying her character. Jesus told the Pharisees, " the one without sin can cast the first stone." Our country thinks they can tear people apart, much like lions in a den ripping up helpless humans. This is our worst trait.

Whatever our political persuasion we have no right to kick a leader for trying their best for our nation. The job of holding many situations in their hands and at the same time having to defend themselves from the people they serve is unfair.
