Stepping Out in Faith

Elisha picked up the mantle that had fallen off Elijah and went back and stood on the bank of the Jordan. Then he took the mantle Elijah had dropped and struck the waters, "where is the God of Elijah? He asked. He struck the waters himself, and they parted to the right and to the left, and Elijah crossed over.
When the sons of the prophets from Jericho who were facing saw him they said, "the spirit rests on Elisha". Hey came to meet him and bowed down to the ground in front of him. 2 Kings 2:13-15

Elisha had seen Elijah do exactly the same thing. Elijah had asked Elisha what he wanted from him and Elisha had replied, "I want double the spirit of Elijah." This act was proof that the spirit had indeed been given. It was also witnessed by a group of young prophets.

Do you know what you want? Are you seeking God for what is yours? Are you a disciple of a great man or woman? Stay faithful and never be put off. Elijah tried three times to leave Elisha and Elisha refused.

When you know it is time to step out do it in faith and strike the waters (figuratively) in what you know you have to do. Elijah lived a life of faith and Elisha had witnessed much of what he did, he understood
Faith and now had to live it.

Is God giving you your own anointing, your own mandate? Go in faith! You have witnessed it as you have served, now do it!
