What is the Picture?

Then the king of Israel (Ahab) marched out and attacked the Calvary and chariots of Benhadad, king of Aram, and he inflicted a great slaughter on Aram.
The prophet approached the king of Israel and said to him, " go and strengthen yourself, then consider what you should do, for in the spring the king of Aram will march against you." 1 Kings 20:21,22

Now we know scripture tells us that Ahab was a wicked king, but God was with him to defeat a heathen nation. Mind you Ahab was close to being heathen himself. Yet God was with him.

If our God, who says He knows the number of hairs on our head is for us, then who can be against us? Romans 8:31

How can we doubt when He shows Himself to be so great? Do you read the scriptures, His stories? They are full of His exploits on behalf of His people.

You could argue that He is fickle because He supports a wicked king, yet do you realise that He may be using a wicked king to defeat a man who may harm his faithful in Judah? There is always a bigger picture. You cannot look at one incident and make a judgement about that.

If God is faithful to His people then we His people must trust Him for the outcome. What is He doing? Do you know or are you reacting to your circumstance or limited vision? Lift up your head and look at Him and not your circumstance. Amen!
