The First Trumpet

The first angel blew his trumpet, and hail and fire, mixed with blood, were hurled to the earth. So a third of the earth was burned up, a third of the trees were burned up, a third of the trees were burned up, and all the green grass was burned up. Revelation 8:7

This verse bears similarities to the combined verses of Exodus 7:19,20 and Ex 9:22-25 when God was dealing with Egypt. The Nile turned to blood and in Chapter 9 huge hailstones came from heaven and crushed all the crops, killed men and beast.

As the remnant of the Jews are present through all this and once again are protected from it's effects, I can see how God is using their beloved scripture to speak to them about His might and glory. This display is for them as well as the unbelievers.

God's power is now evident on the earth. Over the years He has been blamed for earthquakes, storms and fires but now He says:"this is ME!"

The silent husband is silent no more. He is showing that He is all He claimed to be and more. Respect will grow and love, in the heart of His chosen. God's people will now know I AM is I AM! How exciting!

Unbelieving mankind will move into overdrive an blame each other for the environmental impact of their wayward behaviour, never looking at their hearts, the real cause. There will be summit meetings, conferences, intelligence gathering all to no avail as they will not know 'who' caused this and the coming events without turning to the scriptures and then those that do will find Christ. Amen! Go God!

Little Things Grow

The boy's mother said to Elisha, "as The Lord lives and you yourself live, I will not leave you. So he got up and followed her. 2 Kings 4:30 The Shunamite woman had travelled to Mt Carmel to find Elisha after the death of her son. Although Elisha had sent his servant Gehazi to the boy with his staff the woman had come to find Elisha and was not leaving without him. I like this lady's spirit. I am sure The Lord God Almighty also valued her heart. She had a heart for God and made room for Him in her world. Now, having lost her son she knew what to do: find Elisha and not let him go until he came to restore her son. What made the Shunamite woman believe that Elisha could raise her son? Was it the same faith that made her provide him a place to stay in her home? I believe it was God working in her life. I am grateful for her faith, I can read and be encouraged.
