Worthy is the Lamb!
Then I saw in the right hand of the One seated on the throne a scroll with writing on the inside and on the back, sealed with seven seals. I also saw a mighty angel proclaiming in a loud voice, " who is worthy to open the scroll and break it's seals? But no one in heaven and on earth or under the earth was able to open the scroll or even to look in it. And I cried and cried because no one was found worthy to open the scroll or even to look in it.
Then one of the elders said to me, " Stop crying. Look! The Lion of the tribe of Judah, the root of David, has been victorious so that He may open the scroll and it's seven seals." Then I saw One like a slaughtered lamb standing between the throne and the four living creatures and among the elders. He had seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven spirits of God sent into all the earth. He came and took the scroll out of the right hand of the One seated on the throne. Revelation 5:1-7
Now things become exciting. The One who was slain for us mankind enters the frame.
It is so amazing that no one was found worthy to open the seals of the scroll. What qualified the worthy One? He was slain, for us, for us!
Of all the most magnificent beings surrounding the throne, sinless and perfect, none of this made them worthy. Why was the lamb made worthy? Because He was slain, He gave His life for us.
What do you consider as 'worthy'? Are your judgements in the same ball park?
I love John for his tears! What a man! He longed for one to be found worthy. And Lo! One of the elders spoke to him: "stop crying! Look!
On Sunday I saw a young man preach his last sermon in a church he was leaving before he went to America to live. He was crying because he loved those he was leaving. He was an anointed young man. God has great plans for him because he loves. John loved his lord!
I am so grateful to my loving Lord, because He loves. thank You worthy Lord. Amen!
