Abiding Prayer
If you abide in Me and My word abides in you, ask whatever you want and it will be done for you. John 15:7
When you stay close to someone, consistently, they come to know you and your word is proven trustworthy. They then open up and give you more room. How much more does our God who knows us and loves us want to do the same?
I know that when I stay close to The Lord I am confident that He hears me and then I boldly ask for others. Today a nasty wind came up and I knew it could be dangerous, especially if someone was careless with fire. I prayed a prayer of intervention. The wind dropped.
When I came home today my mum was struggling with hay fever and I prayed, she improved.
When our prayers are for others we are heard. I am not saying that God does not listen to my needs, but that because we are close He knows my needs and I know all is well.
A fellow Rotarian had gone away on holidays and entrusted me with a task for a bike riding event we are organising in October called Pedal the Peel. He trusted me to complete the task. Why? I had proved myself trustworthy and I wanted to bless the team. I did the task!
At the committee meeting tonight one of the team was becoming anxious so I encouraged him with: ' if we do all we need to do for the event, people will come, all will be well.' He appreciated it!
All little things but all salt and light things that we all can do! Amen!
