Cast Out

And from the priests: the descendants of Hakkoz, and the descendants of Barzillai- who had taken a wife from the daughters of Barzillai the Gileadite and was called by their name. These searched for their entries in the genealogical records, but they could not be found, so they were disqualified from the priesthood. The governor ordered them not to eat the most holy things until there was a priest who could consult the Urim and Thummin. Nehemiah 7:63-65

These men were probably already serving as priests and now that the census had been taken were being removed.

This puts to mind a time when Jesus said: "not all who call me Lord will enter the Kingdom of Heaven but only the one who does the will of My Father in heaven." Matthew 7:21

Revelation 20:12-15 talks about he Lambs Book of Life. Those who's names were not in it were thrown into the Lake of Fire.

This tells us that there are some who now minister but do it in their flesh and will be thrown out. Not pretty!

God's grace leads us to repentance but woe betide the person who uses God for his own end, he will have a fiery end.

There were priests in Nehemiah's time who were cast out from the ministry and no longer able to minister or eat at the table provided for the priests. They had to find their own way.

This comes as a warning to m: keep it clean, keep it right, keep it honest, keep it whole and keep it God. Amen!
