All Are Welcome

While Peter was deeply perplexed about what the vision he had seen might mean, the men who had been sent by Cornelius, having asked directions to Simon's house, stood at the gate. They called out, asking if Simon, who was also named Peter, was lodging there.
While Peter was thinking about the vision, the Spirit told him, "Three men are here looking for you. Get up, go downstairs, and accompany them with no doubts at all, because I have sent them."
Then Peter went down to the men and said, "Here I am, the one you're looking for. What is the reason you are here?"
They said, " Cornelius, a centurion, an upright and God-fearing man, who has a good reputation with the whole Jewish nation, was divinely directed by a holy angel to call you to his house and hear a message from you." Peter then invited them in and gave them lodging. Acts 10:17-23

Peter had been prepared by the Holy Spirit to minister to these Gentiles. It was against Jewish law for them to associate with Gentiles but the Holy Spirit was breaking down the barriers.

It would be like you receiving a visit from, say, a communist wanting you to go with him and you were in China. You would have good reason to be concerned but the Holy Spirit was doing a new thing.

The Lord has a plan as to who and how he wants to reach the unreachqble. He is working all over the world in many places we would consider antagonistic to the gospel. The Holy Spirit is God, the powerful One, the gentle loving one, wooing the lost to the saviour.

We can look at a person, say a drunk, and assume that God would not want to touch them, but he does. He is interested in all, not just the pretty, nice or clean.

My challenge is to not judge with my eyes and assume that some are untouchable. God alone knows. Amen!
