Death is Defeated

Men of Israel, listen to these words: this Jesus, the Nazarene was a man pointed out to you by God with miracles, wonders, and signs that a God did among you through Him, just as you yourselves know. Though He was delivered up according to God's determined plan and foreknowledge, you used lawless people to nail Him to a cross and kill Him. god raised Him up, ending the pains of death, because it was not possible for Him to be held by it. acts 2:22-24

Peter, here is reminding the listeners that Jesus was indeed approved by God, through signs and wonders, which they were witnesses to.

Yet, even though God had a plan to redeem mankind through the cross, the baseless character of humankind killed it's  saviour, and used evil men to do the dirty work.

Even though evil did the work of crucifying Christ, God raised Him from the dead because He could not be left in the grave. The power of the cross had to be seen. The power of the cross was life, redemption, resurrection. Sin is condemned to death, sinlessness is free from death. Amen!

Therefore: 'the law of the spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set me free from the law of sin and death.' Romans 8:2

There is therefore now, no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.(1) If you walk in the spirit then the life of the spirit is in you and death cannot rule your bodies, it is cheated of it's power! Amen! And Amen!

Today, while it is still today, choose life that you might live! Amen!

Little Things Grow

The boy's mother said to Elisha, "as The Lord lives and you yourself live, I will not leave you. So he got up and followed her. 2 Kings 4:30 The Shunamite woman had travelled to Mt Carmel to find Elisha after the death of her son. Although Elisha had sent his servant Gehazi to the boy with his staff the woman had come to find Elisha and was not leaving without him. I like this lady's spirit. I am sure The Lord God Almighty also valued her heart. She had a heart for God and made room for Him in her world. Now, having lost her son she knew what to do: find Elisha and not let him go until he came to restore her son. What made the Shunamite woman believe that Elisha could raise her son? Was it the same faith that made her provide him a place to stay in her home? I believe it was God working in her life. I am grateful for her faith, I can read and be encouraged.
