Evangelising
The same thing happened in Iconium; they entered the synagogue and spoke in such a way that a great number of bothe Jews and Greeks believed. But the Jews who refused to believe stirred up and poisoned the minds of the Gentiles against the brothers. So they stayed for some time and spoke boldly in reliance on The Lord, who testified in the message of His grace by granting that signs and wonders be performed through them.
And there they kept evangelising. Acts 14:1-3, 7
You could say that Paul and Barnabus were evangelists. They were preachers of the Christian faith. The word came from the Greek. Generally and evangelist is a leader as they go out with the gospel and many are considered missionaries.
However, for all Christians, we are compelled to share our faith because of the good news of what Jesus has done for us.
New Christians are the best evangelists as their passion is hot for the change in their lives is only recent.
As a new Christian I was so filled with happiness about what Jesus had done for me I could not but speak.
My first journal was begun at this time. It was full of gratitude and love for my Lord. As I needed to break through a barrier I would innocently go to the Lord in prayer and see a miracle.
The joy should never diminish if we stay close. I find that 41 years later I know my God so much more than when I began.
The thing that tested me most was
success and moving to a town where a new church was hard to find. Staying in fellowship is vital as it keeps us in God and has a way of challenging our lives with truth.
Keeping our lives pure is important. The scripture says: what fellowship has light with darkness? (2 Corinthians 6:14) Oil and water do not mix. Our feelings will try and override truth and demand satisfaction. For example wanting a spouse. For a man desire for sex will drive him and for a woman loneliness.
Choosing a mate without consideration of the importance of being equal in body, soul and spirit can be devastating if ignored and a blessing if honoured.
We can trust our God for all our needs, he desires our best, trust Him! Amen!
