Follow Me
" I assure you: when you were young, you would tie your belt and walk wherever you wanted. But when you grow old, you will stretch out your hands and someone else will tie you and carry you where you do not want to go." He said this to signify by what kind of death he would glorify God. After saying this, He told Him, "Follow Me!" John 21:18,19
Peter was being told that a seriously horrible fate would end his life and then he was told to follow. He was to be crucified just as Jesus had been. As he had seen it many times Peter knew what it entailed and as his Lord had suffered it for him He had gone before him and shown the way.
In an age where we all want to hear good stuff and are in lined to leave situations so that we can avoid bad stuff how would you receive this word?
10 years ago, The Lord told me He was stripping my life of all that as in in and starting again. At that time I was married, living in a very nice home, had a good job, was pastoring a church with my husband, had recognition in the town. I had come to a cross-road and things were going wrong between myself and my husband.
10 years on it is all gone, I live with my mother, brother and sister-in-law and God has begun again. This time I am different. I am a free, content individual who now had a life of good memories about childhood and now when I think of my ex-husband I think of the funny things without regret.
Yesterday The Lord began pouring into my spirit the vision He has for my life and it is good, very good. This time what comes is from my God and not myself, He is doing a new thing. Amen!
The last 10 year taught me about the love my God has for me, how He faithful and keeps His word. He has provided for me and protected me. The lessons I have learned are a part of the new, and it is good. Amen! I have learned to wait quietly before my God, to trust Him, lean on a Him and look at Him and not my circumstances. He is indeed the good shepherd. Amen!
