Holy Spirit Work

As they were travelling down the road, they came to some water. The eunuch said, "Look, there's water! What would keep me from being baptised?" And Philip said, "If you believe with all your heart you may." And he replied, "I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God." Acts 8:36,37

I remember when I was first baptised. I went along to see what this baptism stuff was all about. I had been infant baptised in the Catholic Church and was a little offended at the mention I might need to be baptised as an adult. However, when I saw others being baptised and the Holy Spirit ministering I wanted in. A gown was found and there was no need for classes, I was baptised and knew I had made a further step in my walk as a Christian.

The eunuch knew that he had found truth. Whenever my heart finds truth I grab it with both hands and refuse to let go. Truth liberates, changes, bring life. Why would I not accept it?

Philip was blessed to be a part of the Holy Spirit's work. Do you know how He rejoices? I love working with Him, today I had such an opportunity. I had a business meeting with a colleague and we are having coffee, along comes a man from church and plonks himself down and begins to chat. His first words were, "You must be a Christian otherwise you would not be talking to this lady (me). I nearly hit him, because I knew the truth.

However, I ran with it, was not uncomfortable and was the one to explain what 'saved and born again' meant. My colleague was invited to church. How hard was that!

Sometimes we can be so complicated! Chill! Enjoy the ride!

Little Things Grow

The boy's mother said to Elisha, "as The Lord lives and you yourself live, I will not leave you. So he got up and followed her. 2 Kings 4:30 The Shunamite woman had travelled to Mt Carmel to find Elisha after the death of her son. Although Elisha had sent his servant Gehazi to the boy with his staff the woman had come to find Elisha and was not leaving without him. I like this lady's spirit. I am sure The Lord God Almighty also valued her heart. She had a heart for God and made room for Him in her world. Now, having lost her son she knew what to do: find Elisha and not let him go until he came to restore her son. What made the Shunamite woman believe that Elisha could raise her son? Was it the same faith that made her provide him a place to stay in her home? I believe it was God working in her life. I am grateful for her faith, I can read and be encouraged.
