I Will Rise

Many signs and wonders were being done among the people through the hands of the apostles. By common consent they would all meet in Solomon's Colonade. None of the rest dared join them, but praised the people highly. Believers were added to The Lord in increasing numbers- crowds of both men and women. As a result, they would carry the sick out into the streets and lay them on cots and mats so that when Peter came by, at least his shadow might fall on some of them. In addition, a large group came together from the towns surrounding Jerusalem, bringing sick people and those tormented by unclean spirits, and they were all healed. Acts 5:12-14

Imagine what would have happened if the disciples had not been obedient and waited in Jerusalem until the Holy Spirit came? Imagine what would have happened if Peter did not come back from his denying Christ? Imagine if the Holy Spirit refused to baptise this motley bunch?

But we have the testimony that all these things came to pass. What a changed man is Peter? Chalk and cheese. Smith Wigglesworth had a similar experience, an unskilled speaking plumber was baptised in fire and became a dynamic firebrand in the Lord's hand.

There are more modern day examples: pastor Phil Pringle was a drop out, drug using hippie studying art in a New Zealand uni but God found him. Pastor Reinhard Bonke was the younger child and his father failed to acknowledge the mantle upon him, but God sent him to Africa.

There are many more. Today I hear the song' I will rise.' By Hillsong urging me to rise to my destiny in Christ. I am no more or less than any of these and the Holy Spirit wants to use this vessel for his glory. Will you join me? Amen!
