Move On

Moses said: The Lord Your God will raise up for you a Prophet like me from among your brethren. You must listen to Him in everything He will say to you. And everyone who will not listen to that Prophet will be completely cut off from the people. Acts 3:22,23

Moses said this word centuries before when The Lord responded to His people asking that they would not hear His voice directly but that Gid would speak through a prophet. God agreed! Over time this scripture was taken to speak about the coming Messiah.

Peter now uses the scripture in the Messianic context. All prophets that came after Moses pointed to the days of Christ.

In our day we have scripture and the word of the prophets. A message given in church can be prophetic and it is our responsibility to respond in faith.

For the last two weeks the message has been ' Move on! Do not look back! It has been more poignant to me because two weeks ago I had a coffee with a man who said: ' I am stuck and have not moved on!' I have been interested to see if this man received anything from the messages and at the same time looked to myself, 'am I stuck?'

God is wanting to do a new thing, He has a plan to create something new and we must be ready and willing. Not responding to the call leaves us behind and it does not bode well for us to be left behind. Behind is dark and dead.

It is time to respond in faith! Amen!

Little Things Grow

The boy's mother said to Elisha, "as The Lord lives and you yourself live, I will not leave you. So he got up and followed her. 2 Kings 4:30 The Shunamite woman had travelled to Mt Carmel to find Elisha after the death of her son. Although Elisha had sent his servant Gehazi to the boy with his staff the woman had come to find Elisha and was not leaving without him. I like this lady's spirit. I am sure The Lord God Almighty also valued her heart. She had a heart for God and made room for Him in her world. Now, having lost her son she knew what to do: find Elisha and not let him go until he came to restore her son. What made the Shunamite woman believe that Elisha could raise her son? Was it the same faith that made her provide him a place to stay in her home? I believe it was God working in her life. I am grateful for her faith, I can read and be encouraged.
