Be Patient

Therefore, brothers be patient until the Lord's coming. See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth and is patient with it until it receives the early and the later rains. You also must be patient. Strengthen your hearts, because the Lord's coming is near. James 5:7,8

I know farmers and I remember one in particular who had experience flood and fire in Victoria. His attitude was the best I have ever know. He knew, as a farmer, that seasons come and go but he lived in hope for those seasons to bring the rains when required and the harvest in due course.

I follow outback Australians on Facebook, as they post photos of their lives, it is inspiring. These people know the earth and have to trust. They are patient and rock solid people. I can learn from them.

Today I have been on earth for 60 years and am grateful. I am grateful that at 19 I came to know my saviour. Today I know Him more than I ever did. His coming for me is closer than it ever was but the joy I experience is in walking with him daily. He is good indeed.

I have learned to be patient and trust that His will is best and that He has all my life in His hands. Amen!

My will is to do his will, it blesses me to bless Him and bring joy to my saviour. Amen!

Little Things Grow

The boy's mother said to Elisha, "as The Lord lives and you yourself live, I will not leave you. So he got up and followed her. 2 Kings 4:30 The Shunamite woman had travelled to Mt Carmel to find Elisha after the death of her son. Although Elisha had sent his servant Gehazi to the boy with his staff the woman had come to find Elisha and was not leaving without him. I like this lady's spirit. I am sure The Lord God Almighty also valued her heart. She had a heart for God and made room for Him in her world. Now, having lost her son she knew what to do: find Elisha and not let him go until he came to restore her son. What made the Shunamite woman believe that Elisha could raise her son? Was it the same faith that made her provide him a place to stay in her home? I believe it was God working in her life. I am grateful for her faith, I can read and be encouraged.
