Giving is More Fun!

"I have coveted no one's silver or gold or apparel.
Yes, you yourselves know that these hands have provided for my necessities, and for those who were with me.
I have shown you in every way, by labouring like this, that you must support the weak. And rber the words of The Lord Jesus, that He said," it is more blessed to give than receive.""
Acts 20:33-35

Paul was a tent maker and obviously used this trade to provide for himself. Of all people you would think he would have been supported in the ministry, but no! He supported himself.

Paul's comment about the poor might infer that he thought the support of the poor was of a higher priority than paying him.

The next concept is one I wish to address: 'it is more blessed to give than receive.'

It is Christmas soon. Tonight I have gifts to my son, his wife Roz and their 5 children as I will nod see them on Christmas Day. I gave the first gift jointly to Jarrod and Roz. His comment was: " but mum we don't have anything yet for you." I did not buy gifts with an expectation of reciprocation. I am already blessed. My son is taking me diving on Wednesday, a belated birthday present.

Considering his family needs him to be around I think that this is a gift worth more than anything else he could give me. A person's time, to me, is valuable.

One grandson, Archie, is a bug and animal nut, at 5. I bought him at shirt with a glow-in-the dark snake on it. He loved it. The eldest Myer was wanting me to read his book to him, the second had his mother reading his book.

Books and clothes, I find this always in need and always appreciated. But the best gift I give is my time and undivided attention, they love this.

This afternoon I had 5 grandchildren at the park for two hours, digging in the sand, building houses and checking out bugs on trees. Time, is a most appreciated commodity, especially in a time poor world.

As I told my son about the park, he remembered a book I used to read to him when he was little about a Panda bear and his adventures.

What we sow we reap. My grandchildren will grow up with a knowledge of how to dream and have fun as an adult. I will have 7 young people who will want to hang our with me because they love how they are loved by me. I am packing their little lives with good memories. This is important.

Spend time and love with all you have! Amen!
