Gospel ABCs

And see, I have kept nothing back from you that wa helpful, but proclaimed it to you, and taught you publically from house to house, testifying to Jews, and also to Greeks, repentance towards God and faith towards our Lord Jesus Christ.
Acts 20:20,21

Paul had a message he knew was for everyone and gave himself to minister in what The Lord had given him. He stated above that he taught all that was helpful. He did not venture into silly ideas and suppositions. As Reinhard Bonke says: "the ABC's if the gospel are enough."

Being caught up in strange and hard to prove ideas, while tantalizing and impressive, do not lead to eternity.
Jesus said he was the bread of life, the light of the world. He is enough and he is all we need.

Keeping the gospel simple and all about a relationship with Jesus is all that is needed. He is our Saviour! Amen!

Tonight I read the Christmas story to two of my grandchildren and it is simple and acceptable to them. They both love building towns, railways, animals on a game called Minecraft but this does not mean that the truth of the gospel is irrelevant. Rather it is still full of power to save. Amen!

Tell the story and keep telling the story and sing the carols, glorify Jesus, honor Him as The Lord He is! Amen!

Little Things Grow

The boy's mother said to Elisha, "as The Lord lives and you yourself live, I will not leave you. So he got up and followed her. 2 Kings 4:30 The Shunamite woman had travelled to Mt Carmel to find Elisha after the death of her son. Although Elisha had sent his servant Gehazi to the boy with his staff the woman had come to find Elisha and was not leaving without him. I like this lady's spirit. I am sure The Lord God Almighty also valued her heart. She had a heart for God and made room for Him in her world. Now, having lost her son she knew what to do: find Elisha and not let him go until he came to restore her son. What made the Shunamite woman believe that Elisha could raise her son? Was it the same faith that made her provide him a place to stay in her home? I believe it was God working in her life. I am grateful for her faith, I can read and be encouraged.
