How Things Work

Is anyone among you suffering he should pray. Is anyone cheerful? He should sing praises. Is anyone among you sick? He should call for the elders of the church, and they should pray over him after anointing him with oil in the name of The Lord. The prayer of faith will save the sick person, and The Lord will restore him to health, if he has committed sins he will be forgiven. Therefore confess your sins to one another, so that you may be healed. The urgent requests of a righteous person is very powerful in its effect. James 5:13-16

There have been times when I have suffered and prayed earnestly and times when I was joyful, like today and I am so grateful my heart sings praises.

However, I have learned another important lesson: praise is my way through the rough spots and opens heaven to my circumstances.

There have been times when I have been sick and needed the elders to pray over me. It is interesting that sin can cause sickness. I know sin opens the door to sickness and can testify to that.

Note that confessing our sins to one another releases healing. Amen!

It is good to know that the urgent requests of a righteous man is effective. So if you need prayer find a righteous person and get them praying for you, it works.

Well I am tired after a lovely birthday. Thank you to all who made it is, especially my Lord and Saviour. Amen!

Little Things Grow

The boy's mother said to Elisha, "as The Lord lives and you yourself live, I will not leave you. So he got up and followed her. 2 Kings 4:30 The Shunamite woman had travelled to Mt Carmel to find Elisha after the death of her son. Although Elisha had sent his servant Gehazi to the boy with his staff the woman had come to find Elisha and was not leaving without him. I like this lady's spirit. I am sure The Lord God Almighty also valued her heart. She had a heart for God and made room for Him in her world. Now, having lost her son she knew what to do: find Elisha and not let him go until he came to restore her son. What made the Shunamite woman believe that Elisha could raise her son? Was it the same faith that made her provide him a place to stay in her home? I believe it was God working in her life. I am grateful for her faith, I can read and be encouraged.
