In the Beginning

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness covered the surface of the watery depths, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the surface of the waters. Then God said, "Let there be light, " and there was light. God saw that the light was good, and God separated the light com the darkness. God called the light "day"  and He called the darkness "night". Evening came and then morning: the first day. Genesis 1:1-5

As we approach a New Year I have decided to go back to the beginning. Along with the first words in the Gospel of John I love these verses. I love to see my God there and in charge.

His love created the universe and our Earth for His pre-determined race called mankind. His work was 'good', as excellence marked all His work. No short cuts, nothing missing, all as He planned it.

Whether there was a time lapse between verses 1 and 2, we may not know until we see Him face to face. In an effort to explain why there were prehistoric creatures that did not seem to fit in the world we read about, some believe that the reason the earth was formless and empty was because what was there had been destroyed. This is a plausable explanation but we do not have concrete proof and if there were dinosaurs God could have made them and then destroyed them in the flood, who know?. Scientists will continue to struggle with the evidence. We cannot deny that they were there, but the timing causes problems.

I can accept my God was in charge and what He created He approved, that I like.

I can allow for whatever My God chose to do, I do not have issues. Amen!

'Beofre the mountains were born, before you gave birth to the earth and the world,
From eternity to eternity, You are God.' Psalm 90:2
