Looking at Others Correctly

Don't criticise one another, brothers. He who criticises a brother or judges his brother criticizes the law and judges the law, you are not a doer of the law but a judge. There is one lawgiver and judge who is able to save and destroy. But who are you to judge your neighbour. James 4:11,12

James is such a kick- butt guy. Imagine growing up with him as a brother. He is reputed to be the brother of Jesus. James was not a follower of Jesus but began to believe after the resurrection. I have a choleric sister and daughter. They can be tough, no mercy at times and at others a bowl of jelly. I think James is very much that kind of person, a no nonsense person.

Today I went to Tamworth High and was involved in a scripture class. I was told before we went in I could share something if I liked, I liked. I was asked what I would share and I said: ' I have no clue but I am ready!' When it came time to talk I flowed with the Holy Spirit and was thinking to myself: ' this sounds good, I wonder where it is heading.' At one point I knew and smiled inside. The Holy Spirit was telling my salvation message with His own unique style. It worked. You know there were two adults in the class, praise God and they got it as well. yes! What fun!

In the class there were several trouble makers but I could see beneath their bluff a heart desperate for love. My sister and daughter need love just as much as the next person and probably more. Their bluster and noise are a cover for a heart hungry for acceptance.

Tomorrow is my 60th birthday and my daughter called me today, now there was a surprise and I loved it. My grandchildren want to make me a carrot cake. My sister-in-law has made me a carrot cake as well. Tomorrow night I am having dinner with all the rabble rousers I could find, friends. I think we will knock off a carrot cake and my family can help with the other one on Sunday.

It is important we see people through a God lense as then we can have compassion and flow with Him. What has He planned? What is he up to? Join His team and find out. Amen!

Little Things Grow

The boy's mother said to Elisha, "as The Lord lives and you yourself live, I will not leave you. So he got up and followed her. 2 Kings 4:30 The Shunamite woman had travelled to Mt Carmel to find Elisha after the death of her son. Although Elisha had sent his servant Gehazi to the boy with his staff the woman had come to find Elisha and was not leaving without him. I like this lady's spirit. I am sure The Lord God Almighty also valued her heart. She had a heart for God and made room for Him in her world. Now, having lost her son she knew what to do: find Elisha and not let him go until he came to restore her son. What made the Shunamite woman believe that Elisha could raise her son? Was it the same faith that made her provide him a place to stay in her home? I believe it was God working in her life. I am grateful for her faith, I can read and be encouraged.
