Miracle Working Spirit

Now God worked unusual miracles by the hands of Paul, so that even handkerchiefs or aprons were brought from his body to the sick, and the diseases left them and the evil spirits went out of them. Acts 19:11,12

Tonight I watched a movie called World War Z with my son. It was unusual in that a disease that infected people turned them into vampire like creatures and the disease spread like a flood. I was reminded of the scripture that says: when the enemy comes in like a flood God will raise up a standard against him.

The disease portrayed in the movie destroyed families, communities, cities and countries yet a vaccine was found.

I praise God for His Spirit who can lay a whole congregation on it's back through living restoration. The enemy can come in like a flood but it meets the mighty power of the Spirit of God and fails.

It is the spirit of God that raises up, brings new life and hope, it is He who deserves all praise and honour.

Our God can impart His Spirit to handkerchiefs and aprons, what a God! Amen!

Little Things Grow

The boy's mother said to Elisha, "as The Lord lives and you yourself live, I will not leave you. So he got up and followed her. 2 Kings 4:30 The Shunamite woman had travelled to Mt Carmel to find Elisha after the death of her son. Although Elisha had sent his servant Gehazi to the boy with his staff the woman had come to find Elisha and was not leaving without him. I like this lady's spirit. I am sure The Lord God Almighty also valued her heart. She had a heart for God and made room for Him in her world. Now, having lost her son she knew what to do: find Elisha and not let him go until he came to restore her son. What made the Shunamite woman believe that Elisha could raise her son? Was it the same faith that made her provide him a place to stay in her home? I believe it was God working in her life. I am grateful for her faith, I can read and be encouraged.
