Re-made
Then God said, "Let the water under the sky be gathered into one place, and let dry land appear." And it was so. God called the dry land "earth", and he called the gathering of the water "seas." And God saw that it was good. Then God said, " Let the earth produce vegetation: seed-bearing fruit with seed in it according to their kinds." And it was so. The earth produced vegetation: seed-bearing plants according to their kinds and trees bearing fruit wih seed in it according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good. Evening came and then morning: the third day. Genesis 1: 9b-13
Now we know that God called the earth 'earth' and the seas 'seas'. It was His idea, not ours.
I love to paint and as I prepare I choose a picture, either one I copy or one I see inside. God would have done that. I then choose paint, canvas and tools and then I might loosely sketch the image and finally go to work. I know how much paint I will apply, what sort of paint I will use: acrylic or oil, or a combination of both, or do a pastel drawing. What I see inside before I start is important. I might even have a place I want to hang this painting. At times people will ask: ' what does that represent? If it is an abstract they look for something they can identify in it. I know what it represents. Just as God named the earth and the seas! I name my paintings.
Once the dry land was created, then there was a place for the vegetation and trees. God gave them ability to self- propagate through seeds, how clever!
I am unable to give my paintings this ability but if I teach someone how I do it, I do.
God created what He saw was good. I don't always do that. At times I over-paint a canvass. I love to do this as this process creates depth, mystery and history. This makes the finished product more valuable to me.
Because I do this I am quite happy if that is what he Lord did in the beginning. If He took something that had been created and over-painted it, then it has depth and history and mystery. After all I am made in His image and only do what He is able to do and does at times.
When I invited Christ into my life, He re-made me. Oh joy! What a day that was! He gave me a new spirit, His spirit, a new heart and as I walk with Him the rest is transformed as well. Romans 12:2 tells me this. Amen!
Let go and let God do what He does best! Amen!
