Second Guessing

Then Agrippa said to Festus, "this man could have been released if he had not appealed to Caesar." Acts 26:32

Paul had been under threat from the Jews who wanted to do away with him. He had been left in prison by Felix who only wanted money and now he faced the new governor, Festus, who, along with King Agrippa agreed he was innocent.

Should he have not appealed to Caesar? At the time things were not looking good. The Jews wanted Paul back in Jerusalem to kill him and Festus was the new man on the block, eager to get along with the Jews. When Paul made his appeal the Jews were right in his face and fighting to have him return.

Paul knew he was to go to Rome. He also knew he would be imprisoned. God had a divine plan for him and Paul trusted Him.

So often we are made to second guess a decision or move we have made, when the original decision was quite okay. A stray comment by a family member can send us into a tailspin. Many will offer opinions about our life and our world, graciously acknowledge them and stick to the plan.

I am very much aware that the more room I make for God, the greater the experience with Him, the better are my chances of walking on water,  amen!
