Walking in the Spirit

Paul said to them, "Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?" So they said to him, "We have not so much as heard whether there is a Holy Spirit." Acts 18:2

Receiving the Holy Spirit was imperative for the saints to minister in the power that Jesus had shown them. Jesus Himself waited for the infilling of the Spirit before He began to minister.

I remember how I received the Holy Spirit. I had been away on a youth camp not long after being saved. Just being in the meetings and experiencing the Holy Spirit singing I spontaneously began to sing in the Spirit. On Sunday night, after returning home from camp I heard about the baptism in the Holy Spirit and discovered that was what had happened.

The baptism in the Holy Spirit brought power to my walk in Christ. Now I find I must use the gift by choice. There may be times when I have a heart that is full and it flows from me but there are other times when I need to choose and in choosing to worship in the spirit them my life flows.

The natural me would dominate, if I let it. I must make room for my spiritual life and give it honour. The Holy Spirit is worthy of friendship and time. Amen!
