Wanting What Belongs to Another

What is the source of wars and fights among you? Don't they come from the cravings that are at war within you? You desire and do not have. You murder and covet and cannot obtain. You fight and war. You do not have because you do not ask. You ask and don't receive because you ask with wrong motives, so that you can spend it on your evil desires. James 4:1-3

Only yesterday I was talking to my brother about a war that is brewing in the South China Sea between China, Japan and the Philippines. China wants what it cannot have. They want an island that belongs to the Philippines, Scarborough Shoal. After the Tsunami Japan, for the first time since the end of WW2 have gone outside their own waters, in their boats, to lend aid to the Philippines.

In a brash statement China suddenly declared ownership over this island, banned anyone else from flying over the zone and even printed it on the front of their passports.

China is behaving like a bully and through bluff and intimidation plan to take what is not theirs. Now they may well have tried diplomacy but if they haven't already it is too late. China is taking on two countries who have America as an ally.

There is a threat of war all because one nation wants what does not belong to them.

Bring this back to our own lives. What do we want that belongs to another? I want what is mine and really, I do not know fully what God has for me so why lock my eyes on something that perhaps is not mine. Why not trust God for what is mine?

My flesh would love to wrangle and huff and puff, but for what end? I do not know the mind of my Father, fully. As it is revealed to me then I can step into what is mine, but truthfully I do not know all my God has planned for me at this time but I know it is good and worth waiting for. Amen!
