Why Do We Share the Sixth Day?

Then God said, "let the earth produce living creatures according to their kinds: livestock, creatures that crawl, and the wildlife of the earth according to their kinds. And it was so. So God made the wildlife of the earth according to their kinds, the livestock according to their kinds, and creatures on the ground according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good.
Then God said, "Let us make man in Our image, according to our likeness. They will rule the fish of the sea, the birds of the sky, the livestock, all the earth, and the creatures that crawl on the earth.
So God created man in is own image; He created him in the image of God; He created them male and female.
God blessed them, and God said to them, "Be fruitful, multiply, fill the earth, and subdue it. Rule the fish of the sea, the birds of the sky, and every creature that crawls on the earth. God also said, " Look, I have given you every seed bearing plant on the surface of the entire earth and every tree whose fruit contains seed. This food will be for you, for all wildlife of the earth, for every bird of the sky, and for every creature that crawls on the earthy - everything having the breath of life in it. I have given every green plant for food." And it was so. God saw all that He made, and it was very good. Evening came and then morning: the sixth day. Genesis 1:24-31

Finally, God creates animals to live on the earth but as soon as this is done He creates man and woman to rule the earth.

What a day the sixth day must have been. The fish and birds were already there but now the final touch: animals and man to rule.

It must be some time since I have read these verses as I had forgotten that mankind was created on the same day as the animals. I had thought it had been a separate day. However, God created the fish and the birds on the same day so why not animals and mankind on the same day? A question now arises in me: why not mankind on a day all to itself?

At this point I go to The Lord and ask that question, go and make a coffee and as I am preparing my coffee The Lord speaks: " look at Me, what do you see!" I replied: " I see love, relationship, order. "

My question had arisen out do selfish pride and God's answer had come out of a servants heart, as always. God created animals that needed tending. Animals left untended become wild and a problem. Mankind created separate is willfull and uncaring. Creation was a piece of work. God created the fish and the birds on the same day, why not animals and man on the same day. Animals need man, man needs animals.

As I was making the coffee the front doorbell went, at 6am in the morning. It was a young man delivering something for my brother. It was well that I was up making coffee. My dogs heard the doorbell and began to bark. I love my dogs, they depend on me. This reminded me of my question: why on the same day. I have my answer.

Rather than go to our own thinking when questions arise or mankind, mind you I did Google my question as well, the Holy Spirit answers bring life. Amen!
