A New Beginning

The Lord said to Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt: "this month is to be the beginning of months for you; it is the first month of your year. 
I will pass through the land of Egypt on that night and strike every firstborn male in the land of Egypt, both man and beast. I am Yahweh; I will execute judgements against all the gods of Egypt. The blood on the houses where you are staying will be a distinguishing mark for you; when I see the blood, I will pass over you. No plague will be among you to destroy you when ai strike the land of Egypt. Exodus:1,2; 12,13

This event was a new beginning for the Israelites, their deliverance. They were to be dressed ready to go and to eat in a hurry. The Egyptians would thrust them out, they had had enough.

God had thoroughly chasten the Egyptians, they were now believers. Yet God's plan was to take them out of Egypt forever.

The blood on the doorpost is a type of Jesus, the godly lamb. His blood totally sets us free and liberates us to know salvation eternally. Amen!

The gods of Egypt were made as nothing in God, He showed His superior power. How good is He? He is still showing the way! Amen!

Little Things Grow

The boy's mother said to Elisha, "as The Lord lives and you yourself live, I will not leave you. So he got up and followed her. 2 Kings 4:30 The Shunamite woman had travelled to Mt Carmel to find Elisha after the death of her son. Although Elisha had sent his servant Gehazi to the boy with his staff the woman had come to find Elisha and was not leaving without him. I like this lady's spirit. I am sure The Lord God Almighty also valued her heart. She had a heart for God and made room for Him in her world. Now, having lost her son she knew what to do: find Elisha and not let him go until he came to restore her son. What made the Shunamite woman believe that Elisha could raise her son? Was it the same faith that made her provide him a place to stay in her home? I believe it was God working in her life. I am grateful for her faith, I can read and be encouraged.
