A Word of Prophesy

Joseph is a fruitful vine, a fruitful vine beside a spring; it's branches climb over the wall.
The archers attack him, shot at him, and were hostile toward him.
Yet his bow remained steady, and his strong arms were made agile by the hands of the Mighty One of Jacob, by the name of the shepherd, the rock of Israel, by the God of your father who helped you, and by the Almighty who blesses you with blessings of the heavens above, blessings of the deep that lie below, and blessings of the breasts and the womb.
The blessings of your father excel the blessings of my ancestors and the bounty of the eternal hills.
May they rest on the head of Joseph, on the crown of the prince of his brothers. Genesis 49:22-27

When Jacob was ready to die he spoke over his sons a prophesy. Those he spoke over the other 11, apart from Judah were varied and spoke of what they would do and where they would live. The word over Reuben was more like a curse because he had invaded his father's bed and had sexual relations with one of Jacob's wives.

The word over Levi in no way indicated that a tribe of priests would come from his loins.

The word over Judah was one that spoke of the future king. 'Judah your brothers will praise you...the sceptre will not depart from Judah or the staff from between his feet until He whose right it is comes and the obedience of the peoples belong to Him.'

The word over Joseph was one of strength and integrity, position and blessing.

What a good practice, to pray over and speak over your children. I know some parents who made it a practice from when the children were little believing that the children will grow up under that word spoken over them.

What words do you speak over your staff? What do you say over your friends and family? Let us be quick to give praise and slow to curse.
