Keys and Doors
Later, Moses and Aaron went in and said to Pharoah, "This is what Yahweh, the God of Israel says: "Let My people go, so that they may hold a festival for Me in the wilderness."
But Pharoah responded, "Who is Yahweh that I should obey Him by letting Israel go? I do not know anything about Yahweh, and besides, I will not let Israel go."
Then they answered, "The God of the Hebrews has met with us. Please let us go on a three day journey into the wilderness so that we may sacrifice to Yahweh our God, or else He may strike us with plague or sword."
The king of Egypt said to them, "Moses and Aaron, why are you causing the people to neglect their work? Get to work! Pharoah also said, "Look, the people of the land are so numerous, and you would stop them from working." Exodus 5:1-5
Pharoah did what any natural man would do, challenge Moses and Aaron that their request was ridiculous. God was going to have to establish His authority and that of Moses and Aaron through a demonstration of power, power that would grab the attention of Pharoah. Pharoah was self-satisfied and did not feel the need to recognise an unknown god.
In our world there are authorities both seen and unseen. We represent the living God and attempt to establish His authority to a world that denies it. Our problem is no different to Moses'. How God wants to establish His authority is His concern, ours is to follow and obey.
Today I meet with another manager in an attempt to open a door. I am looking for the key. I am going to find it in a God place. In the early afternoon I have volunteered to teach scripture to 7 and 8 year olds. Now in the natural this is ludicrous as I naturally should be working on the problem, but I am. God's kingdom works according to His ways not our ways. He places keys and doors in unusual places.
I remember when computer games first came out thee was a game called 'Kings Quest'. My family loved playing it. The quest was the search for keys to open doors. Sound familiar? The keys were hidden in the most unusual places. Only when keys were found could you move on.
There were levels in this game, higher authority. This is what I seek. I am on a King's quest and He is running the show.
This is a game of momentous proportions and I aim to win. How about you?
