But What if He Does Love Me!
I will cause the people ahead if you to feel terror and throw I to confusion all the nations you come to, I will make all your enemies turn their backs to you in retreat. I will send the hornet in front of you, and it will drive the Hivittes, Caananites, and Hittites away from you. I will not drive them out in a single year; otherwise, the land would become desolate, and wild animals would multiply against you. I will drive them out little by little ahead of you until you have become numerous and take possession of the land. Exodus 23:27-30
God is ahead and behind. Here we see God's promise to fill the enemies with fear yet we go to fear. When Joshua led the Israelites into the promised land and the spies went into Jericho, Rahab, the harlot told them of the fear of the people if the city and how they had heard about this One True God and His people.
Now if God be for you, who is against you? What if God is really for me? What if He goes before me? What if I really am blessed? What if He does, really have great plans for me? What if the lies of my circumstance are clouding the truth?
Think, rather, say: if God be for me, who can be against me? Dare to believe! Amen!
