Time to Build

Then Moses said to the entire Israelite community, "This is what The Lord has commanded: 'Take up an offering among you for The Lord. Let everyone whose heart is willing bring this as the Lord's offering: gold, silver, and bronze; blue, purple, and scarlet yarn; fine linen and goat hair; rams skins dyed red and manatee skins; acacia wood; oil for the light; spices for the annointing oil and for the fragrant incence; and onyx and gemstones to mount on the ephod and breastplate. Let all the skilled craftsman among you come and make everything that the Lord has commanded.
Then the entire Israelite community left Moses' presence. Everyone whose heart was moved and whose spirit prompted him came and brought an offering to The Lord for the work on the tent of meeting, for all it's services, and holy garments. Exodus 35:4-10; 20,21

Wow! A bunch of ex-slaves had in their possession all that was required to build the temple just as God had commanded. When they left Egypt all the treasure heaped upon them by their oppressors was now going to be used in God's temple.

I had to look up 'manatee skins', apparently they were dolphin skins or some other type of fine leather. We would struggle to kill dolphins nowadays but obviously it was a practice back then.

When God leads us to do something, or create something He provides the skill and the equipment we need. Under Pharoah many would have been trained in the skills to beat gold and create the fine things they had in their temples, homes and burial grounds. The women had learned to spin and weave and now had something to show for their effort.

We can be confident that we have all we need to do the task before us. I doubted that God had it right when He lead me to create a business in which young people would be trained up, but He knew, I had the skill and the ability to find what I did not have. He is constantly amazing me with His love and faithfulness. I am blessed! As I faithfully do what I must do He provides the clients, the tools, the avenues. he is good! Amen!
