Blessing Prayer

The Lord spoke to Moses: Tell Aaron and his sons how you are to bless the Israelites, Say to them:
May Yahweh bless you and protect you;
May Yahweh make His face to shine upon you; and be gracious to you;
May Yahweh look with favour on you and give you peace.

In this way they will pronounce My Name over the Israelites, and I will bless them. Numbers 6:24-27

As recipient of God's blessing Israel was to bless the nations. Blessing covered number of descendants; a fruitful land; good health; long life; deliverance from danger and oppression, protection from enemies; having the presence of God.

I can invoke God's blessing by what I say over my own life. I can invite divine, biblical truth or speak worldly lies. Whose authority will I walk in?

The bible tells me who I am; what my rights are; how God sees me. Therefore, what do I speak? If I speak what He speaks, we are in sync, and harmony exists. If I confess what my enemy makes me feel then I am out of protection and no matter how good I am I will suffer and struggle because I fail to speak God's truth. It is His truth that has life.

Therefore I will say: I am blessed and highly favoured of the Lord. I am blessed!!! Amen!

Little Things Grow

The boy's mother said to Elisha, "as The Lord lives and you yourself live, I will not leave you. So he got up and followed her. 2 Kings 4:30 The Shunamite woman had travelled to Mt Carmel to find Elisha after the death of her son. Although Elisha had sent his servant Gehazi to the boy with his staff the woman had come to find Elisha and was not leaving without him. I like this lady's spirit. I am sure The Lord God Almighty also valued her heart. She had a heart for God and made room for Him in her world. Now, having lost her son she knew what to do: find Elisha and not let him go until he came to restore her son. What made the Shunamite woman believe that Elisha could raise her son? Was it the same faith that made her provide him a place to stay in her home? I believe it was God working in her life. I am grateful for her faith, I can read and be encouraged.
