Prayer Stops Wrath

For God's wrath is revealed from heaven against all godlessness and unrighteousness of people who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth, since what can be known about God is evident among them, because God has shown it to them. For his invisible attributes, that is, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen since the creation of the world, being understood through what He has made. As a result, people are without excuse. For though they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God or show gratitude. Instead, their thinking became nonsense, and their senseless minds were darkened. Claiming to be wise, they became fools and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images resembling mortal man, birds, four-footed animals and reptiles.
Therefore God delivered them over in the cravings of their hearts to sexual impurity, so that their bodies were degraded among themselves. They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshipped and served something created instead of the Creator, who is praised forever. Romans 1:18-25

I have to face the fact that the wrath of God and the grace of God co-exist. For those who choose to accept Christ, their world is governed by grace. For those who refuse to accept the truth about Christ and the free gift given, there is wrath.

What about those God is working in to bring to salvation? We all have stories about God's wooing grace. Where was the wrath?

Is it possible that those God woos are those held up in prayer by the Christian? I know that when devastation threatens in the weather I intercede and pray for grace and mercy and it is given. When I pray for my own life and ask for grace and mercy, it is given.

I know that I was prayed into the Kingdom, how about you?

I am currently in intercession for my city, Tamworth. I am praying for an outpouring of grace and mercy. I expect my prayers to be answered.

When I saw the Auatralian veterans marching in the rain on Anzac Day this week I prayed for the rain to cease and it did. I expect my prayers to be answered but there are times I do not think to pray. If only I would!

Wrath is given where no grace exists. What am I doing about it? What did Moses do about it? He prayed, God heard and relented.

Time to pray folks! Amen!
