A Throne of Grace

Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens- Jesus The Son of God- let us hold fast to the confession. For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathise with our weaknesses, but One who has been tested in every way as we are, yet without sin. Therefore let us approach the throne of grace with boldness, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us at the proper time. Hebrews 4:14-16

Did you notice the above scripture speaks about a throne of grace. A throne speaks of kingship, rulership, authority. Our Lord's throne is established in grace. Grace is His almighty favour towards us but more it is power to be and do. A throne carries power and authority over something. Let's examine what that might be.

What are the things that Jesus had to struggle with and that we still struggle with? Anger, revenge, hatred, lust, a crooked tongue, arrogance, pride, self-righteousness, self-pity, laziness, addictions, to name a few. His throne sits on top of all these things, He defeated them and we can live in that authority? Why? Because He has invited us to sit with Him. Amen!

Rejoice saints our champion is a champion above all others, His throne is above all others. There is no changing in Him, no guile but truth, truth that liberates. Come boldly to Him and walk with Him. See what He sees, live out if His mighty strength within. Amen!
