Death and Life

For we know that our old self was crucified with Him in order that the body of sin might be brought to nothing, so that we would no longer be enslaved to sin. For the one who has died has been set free from sin. Now if we have died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with Him. Romans 6:6-8

What does death feel like? I almost found out yesterday. I decided to ride my bike to work and was hit by a car. Fortunately I only have a fractured pelvis. My ex-husband's new wife lost her ex-husband to the same fate, yesterday. He was killed riding a bike.

So back to death. If I die to sin's enslavement, I am totally turning away from it. Being dead means you are now going into eternity and away from this mortal coil, never to return, never ever to return. Eternity has totally different parameters than life on Earth. This helps with perspective. Dead is dead!

Just as we will pass into eternity, where there is no sin, no pain, no striving, all over and it lasts forever and ever, this is what being alive to Christ and all He represents will be like. Amen!
