Free From a Body of Sin

For I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my flesh. For the desire to do what is good is within me, but there is no ability to do it. For I do not do the good that I want to do, but practice the evil that I do not want to do. Now if I do what I do not want, I  am no longer the one doing it, but it is sin that lives in me. So I discover this principle: when I want to do what is good, evil is within me. For in my inner self I  joyfully agree with God's law. But I see a different law in the parts of my body, waging war against the law of my mind and taking me prisoner to the law of sin in the parts of my body. What a wretched woman I am! Who will rescue me from this dying body? I thank God through Jesus Christ my Lord! So then, with my mind I  myself am slave to the law of God , but with my flesh,
To the law of sin.
Therefore, there is no condemnation for those in Christ Jesus, for the law of the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus has set me free from the law of sin an death. Romans 7: 18-8:1

This is the plight of all humankind and Jesus is the only answer. In Him is completion of the law and righteousness. The struggle has gone. I can walk in faith in the Son of God. He paid the price for my freedom and I am free.

Christ completed all the requirements of the law. I do not need to try, it is done, finished, completed. I am free!

How great is my peace, my freedom, my rest? What joy!

Little Things Grow

The boy's mother said to Elisha, "as The Lord lives and you yourself live, I will not leave you. So he got up and followed her. 2 Kings 4:30 The Shunamite woman had travelled to Mt Carmel to find Elisha after the death of her son. Although Elisha had sent his servant Gehazi to the boy with his staff the woman had come to find Elisha and was not leaving without him. I like this lady's spirit. I am sure The Lord God Almighty also valued her heart. She had a heart for God and made room for Him in her world. Now, having lost her son she knew what to do: find Elisha and not let him go until he came to restore her son. What made the Shunamite woman believe that Elisha could raise her son? Was it the same faith that made her provide him a place to stay in her home? I believe it was God working in her life. I am grateful for her faith, I can read and be encouraged.
