Harmony Not Discord

Now, may the God who gives the power of patient endurance and who supplies encouragement, grant you to live in such mutual harmony with one another, in accord with Christ Jesus, that together you may with united hearts and one voice praise and glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Romans 15:5,6

Jesus came to bring harmony not discord. We have an enemy who sows discord. You find this guy sowing seeds of doubt, discontent and criticism in our minds about those in church with whom we do life. The noise will be: 'see she doesn't care for you, why she hasn't even called you once and she knows what you are going through,' 'why he doesn't give a fig about your life, he is too involved in his own world, why would you want to be friends with him?'
 
These whispering are subtle but they are lies all the same, as are all of his whispering thoughts of condemnation. Trash them! your enemy seeks to isolate you, don't listen to him!
 
Put on the helmet of salvation and defy his noise. Amen!
 
Choose to lovingly pray for your church family. Call them, invite them over for a meal.

Little Things Grow

The boy's mother said to Elisha, "as The Lord lives and you yourself live, I will not leave you. So he got up and followed her. 2 Kings 4:30 The Shunamite woman had travelled to Mt Carmel to find Elisha after the death of her son. Although Elisha had sent his servant Gehazi to the boy with his staff the woman had come to find Elisha and was not leaving without him. I like this lady's spirit. I am sure The Lord God Almighty also valued her heart. She had a heart for God and made room for Him in her world. Now, having lost her son she knew what to do: find Elisha and not let him go until he came to restore her son. What made the Shunamite woman believe that Elisha could raise her son? Was it the same faith that made her provide him a place to stay in her home? I believe it was God working in her life. I am grateful for her faith, I can read and be encouraged.
