His Life is Best

You, however, are not of the flesh but of the Spirit if in fact the Spirit of God dwells in you. Anyone who does not have the spirit of Christ does not belong to Him. But if Christ is in you, although the body is dead because of sin, the Spirit is life because of righteousness. If the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead, He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead  will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you. Romans 8: 9-11

If I am of the Spirit then He, the Holy Spirit, must be able to guide. When I yield to Him I experience peace and joy. When I yield to the flesh that is dead, I experience a horrible stench because I am empowering something dead and as I am not God, or acting as His emissary in this matter, my resurrection powers are not His.

Today, being Sunday, I wanted to go to church, but because of my recent accident( being hit by a car) I allowed myself to be overruled by my mother an daughter and then I felt like I had missed out. I tried to watch MyC3 online and it was having issues tonight so now I will have to watch re-runs. I caught a bit of this mornings service and it was powerful.

Tonight I  found myself watching a stupid murder mystery instead. How dull and unedifilying. Stupid choice! Probably not thinking clearly as was sick on the stomach earlier. Now I must build myself up in the Holy Ghost. Clean out the pipes and worship the Lord. I must find the mind of the Lord for the coming week, I need His wisdom and be back in His groove. Amen!

Little Things Grow

The boy's mother said to Elisha, "as The Lord lives and you yourself live, I will not leave you. So he got up and followed her. 2 Kings 4:30 The Shunamite woman had travelled to Mt Carmel to find Elisha after the death of her son. Although Elisha had sent his servant Gehazi to the boy with his staff the woman had come to find Elisha and was not leaving without him. I like this lady's spirit. I am sure The Lord God Almighty also valued her heart. She had a heart for God and made room for Him in her world. Now, having lost her son she knew what to do: find Elisha and not let him go until he came to restore her son. What made the Shunamite woman believe that Elisha could raise her son? Was it the same faith that made her provide him a place to stay in her home? I believe it was God working in her life. I am grateful for her faith, I can read and be encouraged.
