I Love You Lord
Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and the knowledge of God!
How unsearchable His judgements and untraceable His ways!
For who has known the mind of the Lord?
Or who has been His counsellor?
Or who has ever first given to Him, and has to be repaid?
For from Him and through Him and to Him are all things.
To Him be the glory forever. Amen. Romans 11:33-36
Paul pulls these verses together from Job, Isaiah and Jeremiah. At times our hearts become so full and needing to describe God can be a significant challenge. In our day I remember a reading of a work that Pastor Phil Pringle wrote about God and His attitude towards us. It was phenomenal. I attempt at times but the words are not there. However, it is worth a try by all of us, He loves it.
'As I sit at table today and read Your holy word I sense You near.
You love toward me is clean and pure. I can trust it, no shadows are there.
As I respond to You I see Your smile, open and free, no judgement there.
You attempt to open my understanding of Your goodness, faithfulness and completeness. I grasp but a little. My constraints of life are there.
I see pictures from childhood and remember the joy of lying in clover, gazing heavenward and being overcome with the immensity, You are there.
I sense the childish pleasure, the joy if discovery. You are there.
Today, as I read Your word the two images intermingle and the joy, again, is there. That same fresh, pure time is here again. You are here.
The child in me comes alive to the wonder of all You are, the knowledge washes my spirit and soul, I drink deeply. You are here!
You are beautiful Lord, I love all You are and I respond to all You are for me. Thank You! Thank You! Thank You!'
