Walk Tall Stay Clean
For I tell you that Christ became a servant and a minister to the Jews in order to show God's truthfulness and honesty by confirming the promises given to our fathers, and also in order that the Gentile nations might glorify God for His mercy not covenanted to them. As it is written, 'Therefore I will praise You among the Gentiles and sing praises to Your name. (Psalm 18:49)Romans 15:8,9
Jesus, the Son of God, knew why He came to earth and kept His focus. He was treated ashamedly, yet he did not waver. He did not feel sorry for Himself, become waylaid with selfish pursuits, distracted with fleshly lusts or doubt why he was here. He knew He had come to save all mankind. He had a noble pursuit.
Up to the age of 30 he went to school, behaved like a son, worked in the family business. He did what He had to do. For three years He preached the Kingdom of God, knowing full well that He was approaching His used by date.
Each of us is here for a purpose. We are saved for a purpose. We are the salt and light of the world. In the process we will work, raise families and live next door to neighbours, yet there is more. We have a patch to season with the gospel, where is our patch?
Stuff will happen to us, we will be hurt, injured and misunderstood but we cannot lose focus. We have a task to complete, people are watching, looking for the wind of God, hungry for the presence of God. Will we disappoint them or lead them to Him?
We can never let up or give up until He takes us home. Righteousness must shine out of every pore of our being. We cannot compromise the gospel with worldly standards yet we must show grace and mercy to all who do. A slight challenge!
I can do all things, all things, all things, through Christ who strengthens me! Amen!
