Bathing in God's Grace
Make sure that no one falls short of the grace of God and that no root of bitterness springs up, causing trouble and by it, defiling many. Hebrews 12:15
How can I fall short of the grace of God? Easy! By not bathing daily I run the risk of BO, if I fail to bath in the refreshing stream of God's grace I am more susceptible to critical thoughts and if I don't pluck these out they develop roots and my spirit becomes bitter. Bitterness is so easy to cultivate. It is like the common weed.
Bitterness is not restricted to one set of circumstances but affects all because if the enemy successfully plants one lie he goes for a harvest. The worst part of allowing weeds into our garden is to face the task of weeding the whole garden. I see rental properties where the lawns are unkempt, there are more weeds than lawn.
A person in the control of bitterness carries an odour of offense and they are prickly customers to deal with. You know that you will be te object of their ire as soon as you dare to confront them. Evil hates confrontation.
Grace towards others prevents us from producing a crop of bitterness and grace is not something we carry on our person. We are more inclined to carry offense, anger and revenge than grace.
Remember to bathe daily in God's presence. Amen!
